Tellington T Touch with Maria Johnston
TTouch offers you a method of educating your animals in a unique way that incorporates the entire body not just the brain. Designed not only to enhance your relationship but also to support your working, athletic or companion animal through times of stress, trauma and problematic behaviours.
Specific observations of your animal's emotional and physical state are key to an effective assessment process. Selective application of Tellington TTouch techniques are then used to address and maintain behaviour and good health.
Fear and pain or the memories of these are the two greatest inhibitors to learning. Addressing and removing fear and trauma leaves the animal more trusting, balanced and confident. Enabling the animal to process new information and create a base of self-control to promote thinking beyond mere instinct.
TTouch is more than a form of bodywork, it is an entire way of training, handling and understanding animals in a positive, non-threatening way and is comprised of several different components.
Active Balance Veterinary physiotherapist, Maria Johnston is a leading TTouch practitioner and uses TTouch in all areas of her daily work. Some of the UK’s top agility dogs benefit from the techniques to enhance balance, proprioception and performance.
